Job Summary
The Day Care Cook is responsible for planning, preparing, and serving nutritious meals and snacks to children at the childcare centre. In line with Canada’s Food Guide, this role ensures that all meals meet dietary requirements and individual needs, and upholds health, safety, and hygiene standards within the kitchen.
Requirements
- Secondary School Diploma
- Food Handler Certification
- Current Standard First Aid Certification or ability to obtain
- Experience required in meal preparation, with knowledge of nutrition and food safety
- Strong planning, organization, and time management abilities
- Basic computer skills, including the ability to complete forms, enter information, and maintain simple inventory, ordering, and food-service records using Microsoft Word and Excel
Working Conditions and Hours of Work
- Ability to lift, carry, and move kitchen equipment and groceries weighing up to approximately 50 lbs
- Stand for long periods, within a kitchen environment exposed to heat and various equipment
- Typical childcare centre setting with exposure to noise, cleaning products, and varied child behaviors
- 25 hours/week
- Occasional meetings, trainings, or special events outside regular hours

Job Summary
The Day Care Educator Assistant supports Early Childhood Educators in all aspects of childcare and development. This role involves assisting in the daily care, supervision, and educational activities of children in a safe and supportive environment, fostering positive interactions and contributing to a healthy learning atmosphere.
Requirements
- Secondary School Diploma
- Current Standard First Aid Certification or ability to obtain
- Bilingualism is required (French/English)
- Experience working with children
- Ability to follow pre-established procedures
- Ability to work independently
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities
Working Conditions and Hours of Work
- Ability to lift, carry, and move children and classroom materials (up to approx. 20–40 lbs)
- Active participation in indoor and outdoor activities, including bending, standing, walking, and playing at children’s level
- Typical childcare centre setting with exposure to noise, cleaning products, and varied child behaviors
- 40 hours/week, between 7:00 a.m. and 5:45 p.m.
- Occasional meetings, training, or special events outside regular hours
