Cochrane District Social Services
Cochrane District Social Services Administration Board (CDSSAB) was created in February 1999 by a provincial law for the reorganization of local services. The CDSSAB was born from the merger of two organizations: the “Cochrane District Welfare Board” and the “Department of Social and Family Services” of the city of Timmins, to offer the program Ontario works and childcare in the entire district.
In 2000, CDSSAB was given the responsibility for contract management and direct delivery of emergency medical services in the District of Cochrane. In 2001, social housing was added to the responsibilities of CDSSAB.
