Post-Secondary Students
The Municipality will be hiring post-secondary students this summer for the following positions:
- two (2) public works helpers
- four (4) park maintenance helpers
- one (1) coordinator of the Claude Larose Recreation Centre summer program
- one (1) engineering assistant
- one (1) by-law officer assistant
- two (2) childcare assistants
- one (1) tourist information clerk for the Gilles Gagnon Welcome Centre
The above positions are subject to confirmation of municipal, provincial, and federal funding as well as certain program conditions.
Starting date: early May 2025
Duration of employment: approximately 15 weeks
Salary: Between $19.85 and $22.69 per hour, proportionate to the experience acquired within the Corporation of the Town of Hearst
Students interested in the positions must submit a Summer Employment Application form, available by clicking here, and a résumé, at the Town Hall reception located at 925 Alexandra Street or by email at townofhearst@hearst.ca, no later than Friday, February 21, 2025.
NOTE: Students who have already submitted their résumé since January 1, 2025, do not have to resubmit.

Hearst Connect Corporation
The Town of Hearst is currently seeking a dedicated and motivated individual to sit on the Hearst Connect Corporation Board of Directors. Composed of members of Municipal Council and the public, the Board is responsible for, among other things;
- establish short- and long-term goals, objectives and priorities;
- ensure the corporation’s financial health;
- ensure that the corporation has the necessary resources to accomplish the required work;
- ensure legal responsibilities;
- oversee the corporation’s organizational structure and administration;
- meet the changing needs and demands of the community.
Interested individuals are requested to submit their candidacy to the attention of Annie Lemieux, Town Clerk, no later than Wednesday, February 26, 2025, at 4:00 p.m.
