Councils and committees

Board of Directors

Family Council

Residents are represented by a group of family members and friends who meet every second Wednesday of each month.
Focused on promoting a high standard of care for our residents, the primary goals of the Family Council are advocacy, education and mutual support, leading to well-being and happiness.

Resident Council

Residents also have their representation via a group of residents that meets monthly with the primary objective to educate the residents on their rights and responsibilities.  By communicating with the administration of Foyer des Pionniers Nursing Home on its viewpoint and needs, the Council is mindful as well on resolving issues and taking suggestions and ideas meant to improve lifestyle quality and evaluating the satisfaction of residents with nursing care and other services.

Health and Safety Committee

Our Foyer is determined to offer a healthy and safe environment to residents, staff and visitors. In order to fulfill this objective, Foyer has an interdisciplinary committee who meets quarterly.

Quality Assurance Team for Resident Care

The health and the wellbeing of residents and their physical, cognitive autonomy and general health are of upmost priority at Foyer.  In order to meet this mandate, a team of professionals in the health field meets monthly to perform risk management and to assess the range of nursing care functions and other services.  Our agenda includes:

  • Fall prevention
  • Reduction of restraints
  • Wound prevention
  • Significant weight loss prevention
  • Medication reduction
  • Pain control management
  • Quality of hygiene care
  • Medication errors and side effects
  • Timely healing
  • Aggressive behaviour prevention
