Claude Larose Recreation Centre

This Recreation Centre was opened in 1979. There are two ice rinks in the arena, which are called East ice and West ice. You can also find two halls, a used clothes depot (Depot Gamelin), a snack bar and a swimming pool called Stephane Lecours.

The centre was named after Claude Larose, who was the first resident from Hearst who was able to go play for the National Hockey League (NHL). He has played for the NHL from 1965 to 1978.

In the main entrance, there are two pictures that represent other former residents of Hearst who have played or are currently playing for the NHL. They are Rumun Ndur (1996-2000) and Claude Giroux (2007-present).
