On behalf of Hearst Council and staff, I am pleased to welcome you to our community's
website. We take great pride in our Town, which is strategically located on TransCanada
Highway No. 11 in the heart of Northern Ontario.
Hearst's population of 6,000 is largely francophone, with a notable presence of
residents having English, Finnish, Czechoslovakian, Chinese, Greek, Portuguese and
Russian heritages. The First Nations and descendants of aboriginal groups are also
an important part of the multicultural make-up of Hearst.
