Accessibility Plan

The Ontarians with Disabilities Act, 2001 (ODA) was enacted by the Province to improve opportunities for people with disabilities and to provide for their involvement in identifying, removing and preventing barriers to their full participation in the life of the Province. The ODA also mandates municipalities to prepare and execute accessibility plans on an annual basis

This document, which was approved by Resolution No. 452-03 of Hearst Council, contains the initial accessibility plan for the Corporation of the Town of Hearst, describing the strategy and action that the Municipality will take in the short term to satisfy the requirements of the legislation, but more importantly, to ensure that both residents of this community and visitors alike have equal and full access to all municipal services available to the public.
