Registered Early Childhood Educator or Educator Assistant
(part-time or casual position)
The Bouts de chou Day Care Centre is looking for a dynamic, reliable, mature and organized person to fill the part-time or casual position of Registered Early Childhood Educator or Educator Assistant.
Main Responsibilities :
- Communicate daily with parents in an open and supportive manner;
- Build a trusting relationship with parents;
- Team work; collaboration with other employees;
- Create an environment conducive to exploring the universe of children and their ability to solve problems;
- Follow the Centre Éducatôt Hub’s Program Statement, policies, procedures and guidelines based on the Child Care and Early Years Act, 2014;
- Be familiar with and observe “How to Learn”, Ontario’s Pedagogy of Early Childhood, and oversee the compliance of pedagogical documentation;
- Ensure professional development through participation in training workshops;
- Respect the profession’s Code of Ethics and practice professional behaviours;
- Perform light housekeeping duties;
- Maintain professionalism, confidentiality and courtesy at all times.
Required Skills/Certifications:
- Post-secondary degree in Early Childhood Education, Social Work, Psychology, Special Education, or other equivalent field;
- Valid Level C First Aid Certificate (general first aid and CPR / AED);
- Blank criminal record, including an audit for the Vulnerable Sector;
- Experience in programming animation for groups;
- Experience working with children of all ages;
- Excellent communication skills in French and English (written and spoken).
Salary :
The salary for the Educator Assistant position is established according to classification 5 of the Salary Administration Program and the level of qualifications and experience, which is between $23.83 and $27.23 per hour and the salary for the Registered Early Childhood Educator is established according to classification 6, which is between $24.89 and $28.45 per hour. An OMERS pension plan is offered.
