REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS
To provide research and writing services for the history of Hearst

To commemorate the Corporation of the Town of Hearst’s 100th anniversary which will take place in 2022, Municipal Council wishes to launch a call for proposals for the research and writing of the history of Hearst since its foundation at which time it was named Grant, through its incorporation in 1922 until 2022.

The Town is proposing a commemorative project, consisting of researching, writing and publishing the local history about the foundations, growth and development of Hearst. Although proponents may submit a proposal in a variety of formats, the following requirements must be met as much as possible:

(a)       colour content;
(b)       include photographs, past and present, including photographs taken or designated by the proponents and archive photographs;
(c)        a popular story, both attractive and accessible to the public;

In summary, the manuscript should be illustrated with archive photographs, historical maps and other graphic elements, and should include many stories that celebrate the diversity of Hearst residents, neighborhoods, historic buildings and events. The manuscript of the history of Hearst will allow all citizens to rediscover their memories of the past.

The proponents will have to define and describe the format that the manuscript will take, the topics included in the content, the schedule, the methodology, the committees and subcommittees involved in the production of the manuscript, the budget including the translation in both official languages of Canada.

Sealed proposals on forms provided by the Municipality will be received up until 3:30 pm, October 26,2018 at Hearst Town Hall, 925 Alexandra, for the research and writing of the history of Hearst.
