Hearst, Ontario — The Economic Development Department is pleased to announce a second collaboration with the Salon du Livre as part of the AGRIVA series of workshops. Indeed, two new workshops will be presented as part of the program of the Salon du Livre, which takes place from May 9-11th at the Université de Hearst.

The two workshops will be presented by Ms. Lili Michaud, agronomist, author and speaker. She is a specialist in urban ecological practices and her information focuses on plant health, while considering the health of humans and the environment. Ms. Michaud has solid expertise on topics such as: ecological cultivation of vegetables and herbs, home composting, ecological water management in the garden and many others.

Ms. Michaud’s first workshop will take place on Thursday, May 9th, at 6:30 pm at the Inovo Centre. The speaker will share her knowledge of ecological gardening. Participants will learn more about tips and tricks for gardening without pesticides while having great crops.

The 2nd workshop will take place on Friday May 10th, again at 6:30 pm at the Inovo Centre. This time, the speaker will educate the participants on composting at home. Although the AGRIVA group has already offered a few workshops on composting, this subject is still in great demand and continues to be a favorite. More people want to reduce their ecological footprint and this workshop will allow them to put in place a good composting system at home.

“It’s always a pleasure to work with Salon du Livre’s team. Last year, the workshops with Mr. Roger Larivière were a great success with the public! We are very pleased to welcome Ms. Lili Michaud to the 2019 workshops’ series”, says Julie Roy, development officer and AGRIVA coordinator.

The workshops are free and offered in French. Registration for workshops is strongly recommended as places are limited. These two workshops will be ending the spring season of the ongoing program, and will resume in fall for harvest.
